Broadwater County Attorney John T. Flynn, 59, passed away from complications of congestive heart failure while on a short vacation.
Flynn was born and raised in Townsend, Mont. He earned a law degree at the University of Montana in 1977.
At age 25, he was elected Broadwater County attorney, the youngest county attorney in the state of Montana, holding the office until his death.
Flynn published several crime novels set in Montana. He was also a hunting guide and among the first hosts of the annual Montana High Country cattle drive.
Flynn is survived by his wife Deborah, two daughters, a grandson, brother Ted and a sister, Claudia Evans of Eureka.
