Maurice Francis Egan

 

Maurice Francis Egan was born Nov, 18, 1962, in Huntington, N.Y., to Desmond Egan of Clinton, Conn., and Maura Flood of Cheshire, England.

He died Aug. 24, 2012, as a result of a single vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 37 outside Libby.

Maurice was known to his many friends as “Moe.” He was employed by Lincoln County landfill as a truck driver.

He served as a communications specialist in an “A Team” with the 12th Special Forces Group. He was also a member for many years on TFS Fire Department and was a EMT for Eureka Ambulance Service.

Maurice is survived by his ex-wife and close friend Denise Egan of Green, Ohio; children Meghan and husband Scott Haring of Akron, Ohio; Michael John and wife April Slemensky of Hernando, Miss.; Corin Slieight of Tampa, Fla.; Ashley and Corey Egan of Chicago, Ill; brothers and sisters Kierran and wife Trish Egan of Chesapeake, Va.; Susan and husband Gil Gallant of Waterford, Conn.; Ian and wife Chris Egan of Austin, Texas, and Ann Marie and husband Bill Egan of Groten, Conn.; nephews and nieces Malkayla, Shana, Tyler, Kyle, Desi and Amber; foster parents Ron and Marie Sperandeo.

Memorial services were Thursday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park next to Montana Market. VFW and American Legion, and the Montana National Guard provided military honors.
