David L. Swanberg

 

David L. Swanberg, 93, a retired Eureka high school teacher, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at his St. Mary’s Residential Care Home in Eureka.

He was born Dec. 15, 1918, in Missoula to Frank and Susan (Evans) Swanberg.

Before coming to Eureka, he taught in Libby, Chelan, Wash.; Wallace, Idaho, and Cut Bank.

In 1954, he married Mable Streeter.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable, in 1988; and step-son Lawrence Streeter.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Swanberg of Helena, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Sept., 14, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka, followed by burial at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home of Eureka.
