Herbert K. Brandon

Herbert K. Brandon was born Aug. 18, 1925, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away Sept. 11, 2012, in Eureka.

He was raised near Sheveport, La. Herb enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Oct. 10, 1942, and was honorably discharged Nov. 17, 1945. While in the Navy he trained to be an electrician.

His first marriage was to Laura Ramsden and to this union Virginia, Harold and Michael were born. They divorced and Herbert married Meryl Stark on Aug. 21, 1953. They lived in many places because of Herb’s electrical profession.

They moved to Trego in 1966 so he could work on the tunnel, then back to Oroville, Calif., later Page, Ariz.; Tonopah, Ariz., and to Eureka in 2002.

In February 2011 he and Meryl became residents at Home Sweet Home.

Herb enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and playing cards. Meryl preceded him in death on July 8, 2012. Harold, Meryl’s children and a grandson, Wayne, also preceded him.

 

Herbert is survived by Virginia Goddard of Wilcox, Ariz., Michael and wife Peggy of Trego, 13 grandchildren – Amy, Angie, Michelle, Melissa, Ronald, Adrianne, Kreg, Samantha, Nicole, Dawn, Kasey, Kory, and Brandon, numerous great-grandchildren and two sisters.
