Donald “Donn” Westbrook
Donald “Donn” Westbrook was born Aug. 21, 1929, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Walter Westbrook and Irene (Mayfield) Westbrook. He passed away Jan. 18, 2013, at his home in Fortine.
Donn entered the printing industry in December 1945, working the night shift while attending school during the day. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, then Hadley Technical School in St. Louis in 1948.
In 1961, he and wife Rosie moved to Houston, Texas, and would later settle in Bastrop, Texas, where he had built a home for his family.
After retiring, Donn and Rosie enjoyed exploring the western U.S. After serving as campground hosts for several years at Sula and Dickey Lake, they moved to a home in Fortine.
Survivors include sons Daniel Westbrook and Timothy Westbrook and daughters Denise Forstner and Darlene Turnbeaugh, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his beloved wife Rosemary, siblings Leroy, June, and Laverne, and daughter Deborah.
Services were Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka.
