Ivene Henley

Ivene (Lay) Henley was born May 22, 1923, in Searcy County, Ark., to Jack and Viola (Keeling) Lay.

She passed from this life Jan. 9, 2013, at 89 years of age. Ivene was a long time resident of Montana and Oklahoma as well as Arkansas.

She married Floyd W. Henley Feb. 17, 1943, at St. Joe, Ark. They had 69 wonderful years together.

Ivene was an Eastern Star member, an ombudsman and a member of the First Baptist Church of Wynona, Okla. She taught Sunday school, wrote articles for newspapers and compiled a cookbook which was packed with great recipes of family favorites.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Floydean Henley of the home; and her sons, Keith Henley of Chandler, Okla., and David Henley of Silverdale, Wash.; two sisters and one brother.
