John Michael Brawn
John Michael Brawn, 80, passed away Sept. 10, 2013, at his home in Grasmere, British Columbia. A celebration of life will be held Oct. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Senior Citizens Center in Eureka.
John was born June 19, 1933, in Rushden, England. He was one of two children, along with a twin sister, born to Leonard and Florance May Brawn.
He lived in Rushden, England, until age 15. He moved to Piapot, Saskatchewan, Canada, to be a ranch hand and worked different jobs until he moved to Grasmere. In 1965, he worked at McDonald Ranch, then at McDonald Lumber Mill for 45 years.
John married Betty Chernishnuk Nov. 16, 1963. They had two children, Douglas Ross and Debra Dawn. They divorced in 1985. He married Diane Foose on Oct. 21, 1989.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Douglas Ross; and brother-in-law Danny Foose of Stockton, Calif.
Survivors include his wife Diane of Grasmere; daughter Gail Johnson of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada; Debra Szots and husband Dave of Grasmere; twin sister Jill Anderson and her children Michael, Sally and June; seven nieces and nephews in England; brother-in-law Dick Foose and his wife Darcia of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; Dave Foose of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister-in-law Debbie Eckles of Stockton, Calif.
John enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, camping, road trips and shopping. He was always helping someone and was notorious for playing pranks.
Ever remembered and loved, sadly missed by Diane, Betty, Debra and Gail.
