Rocky Jay Peterson
Rocky Jay Peterson, born Aug. 21, 1972, rose to heaven on Sept. 1, 2013, at the age of 41.
He was born and raised in Eureka, graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1991.
He enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Constellation.
Rocky spent four years at an apprentice school for linemen. After graduating, Rocky traveled the country as a contracted journeyman lineman and loved chasing storms. Most recently he worked for Lincoln Electric Co-op.
Rocky loved the outdoors. His passions included fishing, hunting and playing golf. Rocky was a big Bobcats fan and was a long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Rocky’s deepest passion was motocross, where he was an active rider and competitor.
Rocky was a surprise to his mother and father. He came 10 years after their third son Ricky was born. His mom dedicated Rocky to the Lord when he was born. Ricky was so proud to have him, he was the only one his mom would trust to babysit him.
The hardest thing in life is to lose someone you love. To lose a son, a brother, a father, and someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, too young, too soon, is a tremendous loss for this family; please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Rocky is survived by his two sons, Michael and Brynt; and the love of his life, Trish DeVall and her daughter Laura Williams; his parents, Kenneth and Sharron Peterson; brothers and sisters-in-law Raymond and Debra Peterson, Randy and Valorie Peterson, and Ricky and Lisa Peterson; nephews and nieces Jason and wife Cecelia and their children Savanna and Nathan; Alicia and Travis and their child Ryan; Darren, Miranda and her children, Landen and Paxten; Jeremey, and Chastyn; Tanner and his wife Mandi; Dillon and Jordan and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
